“Thank you to you, Leslie, Sue and Andrew for your readings and performance last night. There is always something about a live event that gives a special edge to words and music. It provoked me into thinking about the distinctions and/or similarities between the song form and the poem; the song lyric and ‘pure’ poetry; and the influence of incidental music on the mood of an audience, be it for film, artworks (especially video, eg Bill Viola) or readings.”
